FAQs

1. Can you perform outside?

Yes, I can perform outside as long as there is adequate cover to protect me and my equipment from the weather, for example rain or strong sun. Common coverings include gazebos or marquees, with a minimum size of 2 square metres.

2. Are you able to move around the room whilst you perform?

Yes, I have a wireless microphone/connector for both my acoustic and electric violin. Interactive performances are fun and can be a great addition to many events. Please note that interactive performances can only take place in venues where there is enough space for me to safely move around without risk of damage to my equipment.

3. Do you take song requests before the event and how far in advance do you need these?

Yes, I take requests before the event. Most packages include 3 song requests in the price. I need to know your song requests at least a month in advance.

4. What if I want more than 3 song requests?

I accept up to 3 additional song requests, at a charge of £20 per request.

5. Should I choose backing tracks for my event or not?

Whilst this is a personal choice for each client, there are certain settings where each option works best. For example, in close settings such as small drinks receptions, formal dinners and wedding ceremonies, having an unaccompanied acoustic violin can create a beautifully intimate and natural atmosphere. In contrast, for events where you want a more lively feel, such as a large party or product launch, backing tracks can add a lot of energy.

6. Do you have your own PA system?

Yes I have a PA system suitable for medium sized venues of up to 100 people.

7. How much time do you require to set up?

This can vary per event due to different requirements, and can be discussed on booking, but on average I will arrive from 45 minutes to 1 hour before the event starts to set up and perform any necessary sound checks.

8. How far in advance do you take bookings?

I take bookings up to 3 years in advance.

9. Is the price inclusive of travel expenses?

Travel expenses are included in packages for the following areas: London & Greater London, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Surrey, Hertfordshire and Hampshire.

10. Do you travel to venues outside of the areas stated above and what are the additional expenses?

Yes, I frequently travel to venues outside of the previously stated areas and am more than happy to do so. Additional travel costs vary based on the location and can be discussed when enquiring.

11. Do you require a deposit when booking?

Yes. I require a 25% non-refundable deposit of the total cost to complete a booking. The remaining 75% must be paid 30 days before the event day. Extenuating circumstances apply and can be found in the booking contract on request.

12. How can I pay for my booking?

Payment can be taken via bank transfer, cheque or PayPal. Full details can be found in the booking form.

13. What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations with 30 days or more notice will receive a 75% refund of the total cost, with only the non-refundable deposit being kept. Cancellations with 14 - 29 days notice will receive a 50% refund of the total cost. Cancellations with 0 - 7 days notice will not receive a refund. Full Terms & Conditions, including a list of extenuating circumstances, can be found in the booking contract which is available on request.
